A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to Emotional Distress.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 663-8.9, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (a) to read as follows:
"(a) No party shall be liable for the negligent infliction of serious emotional distress or disturbance if the distress or disturbance arises solely out of damage to real property or inanimate material objects."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
