A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to bill of rights day.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 8, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§8- Bill of Rights Day. December 15 of each year shall be known as "Bill of Rights Day." This day is not and shall not be construed to be a state holiday."
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2006-2007 for activities commemorating the establishment and observation of Bill of Rights Day.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
