Makes an appropriation for a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, HRS, to the Hawaiian Humane Society for the maintenance of an emergency animal shelter during a disaster.

A BILL FOR AN ACT

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $          , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2006-2007, as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes, for the Hawaiian Humane Society to retrofit and maintain a part of its facility to serve as an emergency animal shelter during times of emergency or disaster.

SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of defense for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
