Appropriates $1,500,000 for each of fiscal years 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 as state matching funds required for National Science Foundation Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research grant application.

A BILL FOR AN ACT

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $1,500,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2005-2006, and $1,500,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2006-2007, as state matching funds required for the National Science Foundation Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) grant application to be submitted by the University of Hawaii.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii to carry out the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
