A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to the university of Hawaii.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 304-4, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (d) to read as follows:
"(d) The board shall develop internal policies and procedures for the procurement of goods, services, and construction, consistent with the goals of public accountability and public procurement practices, subject to chapter 103D[.]; provided that the board may adopt alternative policies and procedures for those procurement situations where adherence to the provisions of chapter 103D would be detrimental to the operation of university programs and the best interests of the university."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
