A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to traffic code.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 291C-131, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (d) to read as follows:
"(d) No vehicle shall be driven or moved on any highway:
(1) While loaded with any load; or
(2) After the load has been off-loaded,
if the load on the vehicle while loaded or after it is off-loaded, is not entirely covered by a cargo net, tarpaulin, canopy, or other material designed to cover the load or the off-loaded vehicle to prevent the load or residual material after off-loading from escaping from the vehicle, where the load consists partially or entirely of loose paper, loose rubbish, plastics, empty cartons, dirt, sand, or gravel."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
