A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE SEVENTEENTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $4,700,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2005-2006, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the seventeenth representative district.
I. To be expended by the department of transportation:
A. Improvements on Kalanianaole Highway near
Lunalilo Home Road, to include installation
of double right-turn lanes from Lunalilo Home
Road onto Kalanianaole Highway westbound
towards town and creation of a dedicated
eastbound left turn land (towards Waimanalo)
into Koko Marina Center from Kalanianaole Highway
Design 200,000
Construction 1,500,000
Total Funding 1,700,000
II. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Kaiser High School, Oahu
(1) Design and construction of girls
varsity locker room facilities in compliance
with Title IX requirements
Design 100,000
Construction 1,900,000
Total Funding 2,000,000
(2) Electrical upgrades to classrooms for
computers and air conditioning
Construction 400,000
Total Funding 400,000
B. Kamioliki Elementary School, Oahu
(1) Completion of classroom partitions
and compliance with ADA restrictions
(DAGS #12-16-39800)
Construction 600,000
Total Funding 600,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
