A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE thirty-seventh representative DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $6,504,450, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2005-2006, for the following capital improvements in the thirty-seventh representative district:
1. Public Library
A. Mililani Public Library
Replace air conditioning system $400,000
Fire alarm system installation $3,500
Exit sign installation $1,700
Emergency egress lighting $19,000
Remove tree trunk and exposed roots $1,000
Repair toilet in women's public restroom $1,000
Replace cracked floor tiles $250
Upgrade interior lighting $28,000
Clean gutter and downspout $1,100
Reseal and caulk windows $2,900
Total $458,450
2. Schools
A. Kanoelani Elementary School
Installation of air conditioning of 7 classrooms in P Building and the administration building.
Equipment ($10,000 x 8) $80,000
Installation ($10,000 x 8) $80,000
Total $160,000
B. Mililani Uka Elementary School
Installation of air conditioning for a portion of the administration building.
Equipment $24,000
Installation $18,000
Materials $4,000
Total $46,000
C. Mililani Ike Elementary School
Procurement and installation of 8 portable classrooms. $1,920,000
D. Mililani High School
Procurement and installation of a new phone system. $160,000
E. Kipapa Elementary
Installation of an electrical wiring upgrade. $100,000
F. Mililani Waena
Procurement and installation of air conditioning. $2,000,000
G. Mililani Middle School
Special education trailer $160,000
H. Pearl City High School
Athletic training room and weight training/rehabilitation facility.
Planning $50,000
Design $150,000
Construction $1,250,000
Equipment $50,000
Total $1,500,000
SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized in this Act, shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2008, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sum appropriated for the capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
