RELATING TO STATE PLANNING.

Creates a task force to review the Hawaii state plan and make recommendations for a sustainability plan to the year 2050. Requires the legislative auditor to create the sustainability plan. Directs the office of planning to assist the auditor to review the sustainability plan.

RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF PLANNING.

Clarifies that DBEDT has sole responsibility over land use and state planning functions and that the office of planning shall report to DBEDT and no other executive department. Requires that appointment of director of planning be with advice and consent of the Senate.

When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

Public Folder. A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for shared use by members of the public.
