RELATING TO TRAVEL ALLOWANCES. Limits the amount of allowable travel allowance for a legislator to no more than the maximum amount allowed any federal or state public officer or employee. (HB1235 HD1) |

RELATING TO THE LEGISLATURE. Supports legislator/constituent communication by increasing the legislative allowance from $5,000 to $7,500. Allows the allowance to be regularly adjusted to account for inflation by increasing the allowance by the same amount and at the same time that the legislative salary is increased. |

RELATING TO THE BUDGET. Requires that the governor conduct a public hearing on any proposed restriction or withholding of funds budgeted and appropriated by the legislature, prior to implementing the restriction or withholding. |
