The University of Hawaii’s Academy for Creative Media, headed by Chris Lee, concentrates on exposing students to new and growing media industries, including digital media and games, with an emphasis on creating new businesses in these fields in Hawaii. For example, the worldwide video game industry has grown to $25 billion a year, surpassing the U.S. film industry estimated to be about $20 billion. The purpose of this informational briefing is to highlight ACM programs and emerging industry niches such as the video game segment.
