RELATING TO TAXATION.

Provides members of bargaining unit (12) with a state income tax exemption for salaries and wages as set forth in the collective bargaining agreement for bargaining unit (12).

RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Allows a surviving spouse or surviving reciprocal beneficiary of a police officer, firefighter, deputy sheriff, or public safety officer to remarry, marry, or enter into a new reciprocal beneficiary relationship and to continue to receive pension and other retirement benefits arising from their former spouse's employment.

RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Allows the Board of Trustees of the Employees' Retirement System to settle or compromise claims or potential claims by members who detrimentally rely on erroneous information provided.

RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Clarifies and corrects existing language, conforms statutes to current practices and includes language previously omitted form prior legislation.

RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Allows the Board of Trustees of the Employees' Retirement System to include the post retirement allowance as an actuarial assumption in determining the actuarial equivalency of benefit optioins to the maximum allowance.
