NOTE: The committee previously held public hearings on Senate bills that are substantially similar to House bills as noted. Please focus your testimony on the differences, if any, between the House and Senate measures as listed.
HB 180 (HSCR799) |
RELATING TO PUBLIC EMPLOYEES. Requires the proposed adjustments to compensation and benefit packages for excluded civil service employees to be at least equivalent to the adjustments provided under collective bargaining agreements for counterparts within the employer's jurisdiction. |
LBR, WAM |
HB 1305 HD1 (HSCR705) |
RELATING TO EQUAL PAY. Establishes a pay equity task force to review any relevant information and make recommendations for funds or specific actions to correct any gender-based pay inequities. Prohibits employers from discriminating on the basis of gender by paying wages to an employee at a rate less than the rate at which the employer pays wages to another employee of the opposite sex for equal work, except when the difference in compensation is based on a seniority system, a merit system, a system that measures earnings by quantity or quality of production, a bona fide occupational qualification, or a differential based on any other permissible factor other than sex. (HB1305 HD1) |
LBR, JHW |
HB 1548 HD1 (HSCR947) |
RELATING TO THE EMPLOYER-UNION HEALTH BENEFITS TRUST FUND. Increases the composition of the board of trustees of the employer-union health benefits trust fund from 10 to 12, 11 of whom shall be selected by the governor and 1 of whom shall be selected by the mayor of the respective counties on a rotating basis. Prohibits the governor from reducing the term of the trustee appointed by a county mayor. Permits county mayor instead of the governor to appoint replacement, in the case of a vacancy in the county trustee position. (HB1548 HD1) (Companion bill: SB 1783 SD1) |
LBR, WAM |
