RELATING TO COURTS.

Allows defendants traveling from the islands of Molokai and Lanai to attend legal proceedings in the second judicial circuit to be reimbursed for travel related expenses as well as be eligible for a per diem. (SD1)

RELATING TO STATE GOVERNMENT.

Requires the governor and legislature to ensure public access to information, services, and proceedings of the executive and legislative branches. Authorizes the governor to convene a fair access commission to review public access issues for the neighbor islands and rural Oahu. (SD1)

RELATING TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL.

Proposes a new section to article V of the Hawaii constitution to provide for the election of the attorney general; amends article III, section 19 of the Hawaii constitution to allow for impeachment of the attorney general; amends article V section 6 of the Hawaii Constitution relating to removal of attorney general with the advice and consent of senate. (SD1)
