Allows trustees of the office of Hawaiian affairs, who were in service on 07/01/02, with no fewer than 5 years of employees' retirement system membership service and who elected to become an employees' retirement system member prior to 10/01/02, to purchase their service credit pursuant to section 88-59(2), Hawaii Revised Statutes. |

RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM. Provides deputy sheriffs and the division administrator with similar retirement benefits afforded other law enforcement and safety officers by allowing retirement after twenty-five years of credited service, regardless of age. |

Persons wishing to testify should submit 40 copies of their testimony, three-hole punched, to the committee clerk, Room 227, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
