NOTICE OF INFORMATIONAL BRIEFING

The purpose of these informational briefings will be to receive an update by the administration on their progress in resolving problems at the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility (HYCF) as identified in reports by the Federal Department of Justice (DOJ) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). In August 2005, the Committees began reviewing the circumstances at HYCF and have developed serious concerns about conditions at the facility and the administration's handling of reform efforts, and will be exploring these areas.

The following informational briefings have been scheduled:
