RELATING TO SPECIAL PURPOSE REVENUE BONDS.

Adds leasing to definition of "project agreement" regarding authorizing issue of special purpose revenue bonds to assist nonprofit health care facilities. Authorizes $30,000,000 in SPRBs to Hawaii Pacific Health to finance acquisition of information technology equipment.

RELATING TO INCOME TAXATION.

Allows an income tax credit to physicians and dentists practicing in medically or dentally underserved areas for a portion of the amount of medical or dental malpractice premiums.

RELATING TO TAX CREDITS FOR MEDICAL STUDENT LOANS.

Creates an income tax credit to repay student loans for students who practice in medically underserved areas in the State.

 
     

SB 792

MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE ADULT MENTAL HEALTH DIVISION.

Authorizes an emergency appropriation for FY 2004-2005 ($12,572,175) from general funds to the DOH, and increases the authorized expenditure limit for the mental health and substance abuse special fund expenditure ceiling an additional $2.5 million.

RELATING TO HEALTHCARE FOR PRISONERS

Prevents inmates from receiving health care services deemed inappropriate by correctional health care staff.
