The House Committee on Housing will receive input on issues related to homelessness and affordable rentals and housing from government agencies and private sector experts, including non-profits, developers, landowners, charitable institutions, economists, homeless service providers and financial specialists, and other interested parties. Representatives of government departments and agencies with policy and oversight responsibilities for addressing homelessness and affordable rental and housing issues will also participate. In addition, the Committee encourages members of the public interested in sharing their concerns and suggestions about homelessness and affordable rentals and housing to participate and provide input on homeless needs, barriers to service providers, priorities, recommendation, etc. at the briefing.

The committee will receive input on issues relating to homelessness as well as affordable rentals and housing from:

    1. Government departments and agencies representations;
    2. Private sector experts, including non-profits, developers, landowners, charitable institutions, economics, homeless service providers, and financial specialists; and
    3. Members of the public.

After hearing from those providing comments, the task force will conduct a question-and-answer session with participants.

Those wishing to submit written testimony are requested to provide 25 copies to the committee clerk in the Vice Chair's office, room 441, at least 24 hours prior to the briefing.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids and/or services to participate in the public hearing process of the state house (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled), please contact the committee clerk at least 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
