RELATING TO HOTEL CONSTRUCTION AND REMODELING TAX CREDIT. Extends and revises the hotel construction and remodeling tax credit to 8% on 7/1/05, 4% on 7/1/09 and repeals the tax credit on 7/1/12; removes time share facilities, condominiums, and commercial buildings and facilities located within a qualified resort area from the definition of "qualified hotel facility"; includes recapture provisions in the event a qualified hotel facility is converted, or is being converted, to a time share facility or condominium. |

RELATING TO THE HAWAII FILM AND DIGITAL MEDIA INDUSTRY. Temporarily replaces the motion picture and film production tax credit with the motion picture, digital media, and film production tax credit which provides an income tax credit amounting to 15% of qualified production costs incurred, in any county of Hawaii with a population over 700,000, and 20% in any county of Hawaii with a population under 700,000; establishes criteria to qualify for the tax credit; caps credit at $8,000,000 per production. |
