RELATING TO THE HAWAII HEALTH SYSTEMS CORPORATION.

Authorizes and funds creation of captive insurance company by HHSC to provide medical malpractice and hospital professional and general liability coverage to HHSC, DOH, UH medical school, and their physicians.

SB 1237

RELATING TO HEALTH CARE INSURANCE TAX CREDIT.

Provides a tax credit to employers who provide health care coverage for their part-time employees at the lesser of 50% of premiums paid or $     per part-time employee. Applies to taxable years beginning after 12/31/2005.

SB 1209

RELATING TO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.

Establishes a pharmaceutical cost management council to consider strategies to manage increasing costs of prescription drugs and increase access to prescription drugs for all Hawaii residents.

SB 841

RELATING TO A LONG-TERM CARE TAX CREDIT FOR EMPLOYERS.

Provides employers with non-refundable tax credit for the purchase of qualified long-term care insurance premiums paid for their employees. Requires these policies have a minimum level of coverage for home and community based care.

SB 802

RELATING TO A STATE PHARMACY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

Creates a State Pharmacy Assistance Program to provide benefits to certain elderly and disabled individuals to assist in defraying costs for medically necessary prescriptions under the new federal medicare part D drug benefit program.
