A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO EMERGENCY 911.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 52D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§52D- Retention of emergency 9-1-1 dispatch tape recordings. Each county public safety answering point shall retain the dispatch recordings of all emergency 9-1-1 calls for a period of not less than one year."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2020.
