A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO EMERGENCY 911.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 52D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§52D- Retention of emergency 911 dispatch tape recordings. The chief of police of each county or any duly authorized subordinate shall retain the dispatch tape recordings of all emergency 911 calls for a period not less than three years."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
