RELATING TO LABOR. Conforms state statutory provisions to the Temporary Extended Unemployment Compensation Act of 2002. Eliminates the fund restriction to UI administrative use only, so that monies can also be used for other purposes. Makes it unlawful for a broadcast employer to include in any employment contract with a current or prospective broadcast employee a provision that prevents the employee for seeking and commencing employment with another employer after termination of the contract. RELATING TO WORKERS' COMPENSATION. Entitles parties that successfully investigates fraud to be entitled to 50 percent of a fine of not more than $10,000 for each violation upon a determination that fraud was committed. Authorizes the Insurance Fraud Investigations Branch, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs to initiate investigations, prosecutions, and disciplinary actions relating to workers' compensation. RELATING TO NOTIFICATION OF EMPLOYMENT CHANGES. Extends from sixty to ninety days the period by which employers must notify employees and the director of labor and industrial relations of its intention to close, partially close, or relocate. Requires employers to provide written notification of the discontinuance, termination, or reduction of housing or housing assistance to employees and the director of labor and industrial relations. Defines "housing assistance" (HB2740 HD1). |
