MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR UNIFORM LAWS.

Appropriates funds for Hawaii's contribution to the costs of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and for related registration and travel expenses.

RELATING TO PROTECTION OF CHILDREN IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

Enacts a new chapter for the enhanced protection of children of domestic violence; makes appropriations.

RELATING TO PAROLE.

Establishes an earned-time program providing incentives for inmate rehabilitation by allowing inmates to become eligible for parole prior to serving a minimum term of imprisonment set by the Hawaii paroling authority by making consistent progress in all of the following areas: work and vocational training, social adjustment, counseling, self-help, therapeutic, educational, and literacy programs. Appropriates funds.

SB 2623

RELATING TO STATEWIDE TRAFFIC CODE.

Allows judges to permit traffic violators to pay fines on an incremental basis if they cannot afford to pay the whole fine at once; prohibits suspension or revocation of license if the person is current with payments.
