SB 2136	RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY. Establishes a statewide fire academy to be located on the Big Island.	JHW, WAM
SB 2278	RELATING TO STATUTORY REVISION: AMENDING, REENACTING, OR REPEALING VARIOUS PROVISIONS OF THE HAWAII REVISED STATUTES AND THE SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII FOR THE PURPOSE OF CORRECTING ERRORS AND REFERENCES, CLARIFYING LANGUAGE, AND DELETING OBSOLETE OR UNNECESSARY PROVISIONS. Amends, reenacts, or repeals various provisions of the Hawaii Revised Statutes and the Session Laws of Hawaii for the purpose of correcting errors and references, clarifying language, and deleting obsolete or unnecessary provisions. SB 2372	RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY. Limits the provision of executive security officer services to the executive to be protected.	JHW
SB 2439	RELATING TO THE UNIFORM ARBITRATION ACT. Extends the effective date of the uniform arbitration act from 6/30/04 to 6/30/05.	JHW
SB 2443	RELATING TO ATTORNEYS' LIENS. Allows for attorneys' liens to prevent double federal taxation on non-physical injury settlements or awards.	JHW

Persons wishing to testify should submit 30 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 227, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal. Individual oral testimony may be limited.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
