Pursuant to S.R. 40, S.D. 2, (2004 Session), the Senate Committee on Human Services will be holding an informational briefing on legal interventions available to the Family Court to institute family-friendly procedures. The Committee has invited the Children's Rights Council of Hawaii and several individuals to present concerns regarding the court process and procedures that have led to detrimental outcomes in cases involving custody or final settlements. The Committee will also review alternative models used by other states to address similar family court problems, some of which may include legislation for the 2005 session.
If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, PLEASE CALL THE COMMITTEE CLERK AT 586-6130
