HB 1739	RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. Establishes an open source software pilot project within the department of education to establish a policy on the purchase and use of open source software applications within the department; appropriates $50,000.	EDN, FIN
HB 2001	RELATING TO TEACHERS. Expands National Board Certification support program for public school teachers.	EDN, FIN
HB 1928	MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE HAWAII TEACHER STANDARDS BOARD. Appropriates funding for the Hawaii teacher standards board.	EDN, FIN
HB 1927	MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE HAWAII TEACHER STANDARDS BOARD. Appropriates funds to the Hawaii teacher standards board to implement and administer a support program for national board certification candidates in the DOE.	EDN, FIN
HB 1926	RELATING TO EDUCATION. Makes technical conforming amendments to the interstate agreement on qualifications of educational personnel.	EDN
HB 2645	RELATING TO EDUCATION. Exempts certified retired teachers from any prerequisite coursework that the department may require of other substitute teachers.	EDN, LAB
HB 1925	RELATING TO EDUCATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY. Establishes academic achievement, safety and well being, and civic responsibility as the agreed upon goals for Hawaii's public education accountability. Defines civic responsibility.	EDN
HB 1948	RELATING TO COMMUNITY LIBRARIES. Establishes goal of funding and staffing parity for community libraries and Hawaii state library. Appropriates $5 million to implement.	EDN, FIN
HB 2330	RELATING TO EDUCATION. Allows home-schooled students to participate in extracurricular and co-curricular activities of the public school to which the home-school student would be assigned, in accordance with the DOE school attendance area policies.	EDN, JUD, FIN
HB 2644	RELATING TO IMPACT FEES. Authorizes the department of education to assess and collect impact fees by intergovernmental agreement with a county, as fair share contributions of developers for the construction of state public school facilities.	EDN, JUD, FIN
HB 2815	RELATING TO EDUCATION. Authorizes the issuance of general obligation bonds to take advantage of the Qualified Zone Academy Bond Program.	EDN, FIN
