RELATING TO LONG-TERM INSURANCE TAX CREDIT FOR SMALL BUSINESS. Grants tax credit to small businesses at the lesser of 50% of premiums or $500 per employee for purchase of long-term care insurance for its employees. Defines small business as businesses employing less than 100 full-time or part-time workers.

RELATING TO MILITARY INSTALLATIONS. Directs the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism and the Adjutant General to initiate discussions with appropriate federal authorities relating to the possible closing of Fort Shafter. |

RELATING TO BOXING. Amends the boxing commission laws. Broadens the definition of "club", replaces the secretary with an executive officer, modifies the composition of the boxing commission, modifies the appointment procedures for deputy commissioners, broadens the powers and duties of the commission, denies promoter's licenses to convicted gamblers, establishes requirements to hold a boxing contest, increases the required number of physicians at contests, prohibits commission members from receiving compensation from promoters, increases penalties to $5,000, and makes other changes. |

Persons wishing to testify should submit 30 three-hole punched copies of their testimony for SB 2457 and 25 three-hole punched copies of all other measures to the committee clerk, Room 216, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
