RELATING TO A ONE CALL CENTER.

Adds a new part to Chapter 269, Hawaii Revised Statutes, establishing a one call center and board to provide advance warnings of excavations or other work close to existing subsurface installations to protect those installations from damage.

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE.

Reduces from 30 to 15 days the amount of notice an insurer is required to give an insured for cancellation of a policy due to nonpayment of premiums.

Allows motor vehicle insurers to cancel a policy within 60 days of its issuance.

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE.

Requires naturopathy to be included among the personal injury protection benefits provided in a motor vehicle insurance policy.

RELATING TO PUBLIC ACCOUNTANCY.

Eliminates experience in private or government accounting as a substitute of the two years of professional experience in public accountancy practice that is required for licensure as a public accountant.

RELATING TO ACTIVITY PROVIDERS AND ACTIVITY DESKS.

To protect activity providers from non-payment for services rendered by requiring solely Client Trust Accounts, instead of performance bonds coupled with irrevocable letters of credit as an alternative.

Persons wishing to testify on CPH/SAT bill should submit 30 copies of their testimony and for CPH only bills, submit 25 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 219, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
