A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the twenty-first representative district.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2004-2005:

1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

A. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu

Construction to resurface Hihiwai street parking lot.

Construction $ 67,000

Total funding $ 67,000

B. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu

Construction of perimeter fencing and gating to secure entire school premises.

Construction $ 25,000

Total funding $ 25,000

C. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu

Construction to reroof G building.

Construction $ 92,000

Total funding $ 92,000

D. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu

Construction to reroof F building.

Construction $ 50,000

E. Jefferson elementary school, Oahu

Construction to upgrade building R electrical system.

Construction $ 300,000

F. Jefferson elementary school, Oahu

Construction to renovate building R restroom.

Construction to expand administration building and library.

Design and construction for expansion of 8th Avenue parking lot.

I. Waikiki community center, Oahu

Construction for the installation of exterior fire exit stairways in Waikiki health center building to comply with building codes and eliminate a fire safety hazard.

J. Waikiki community center, Oahu

Construction to replace fire alarm system to comply with current fire codes and ADA regulations.

Construction $ 12,000

K. Waikiki community center, Oahu

Construction to comply with ADA requirements, including restroom renovations, ramp installation, door and entrance modifications, signage, elevators, design, and permitting.

L. Waikiki community center, Oahu

Construction to replace windows in childcare program building.

Construction $ 130,000

Total funding $ 130,000

M. Waikiki health center, Oahu

For the purchase of six workstations with privacy panels to be utilized in the patient service areas.

N. Kapahulu center, Oahu

Construction to upgrade electrical system.

Construction $ 150,000

Total funding $ 150,000

O. Kapahulu center, Oahu

Construction to reroof building A.

Construction $ 50,000

Total funding $ 50,000

P. Kapahulu center, Oahu

Preparation and repainting of building A, B & C.

Total funding $ 24,880

2. To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:

A. Construction for the improvement of the Waikiki seawall.

Construction $1,910,000

Total funding $1,910,000

B. Design of the Diamond Head Monument visitor center.

Design $2,500,000

Total funding $2,500,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2004.
