Measure Title: RELATING TO PUBLIC EMPLOYEES.
Report Title: Public Employees; Public Officials; Termination; Felony Conviction
Description: Provides that public officials and public employees who have been convicted of a felony for conduct relating to their public office or duties, shall be terminated upon conviction. Provides that employees covered under chapter 89 are entitled to a grievance procedure. Establishes a rebuttable presumption that a criminal conviction is just and proper cause for the employee's termination. Provides for restitution if the conviction is overturned and the public employee is not otherwise terminated in accordance with law. (HB287 CD1)
