RELATING TO SEXUAL ASSAULT. Makes permanent the offenses of sexual assault in the 1st degree and sexual assault in the 3rd degree for persons who knowingly engage in sexual penetration with minors at least 14 years old but less than 16 years old, if the offender is not less than 5 years older than and is not married to the minor. |

THE PROPOSED SD1 WOULD KEEP THE EXISTING LANGUAGE IN THE BILL AS PART I AND ADD A NEW PART II THAT WOULD REQUIRE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH MEGAN'S LAW. COPIES OF THE PROPOSED SD1 ARE AVAILABLE AT THE STATE CAPITOL, ROOM 227 OR ON THE CAPITOL WEB SITE AT www.capitol.hawaii.gov.
