RELATING TO LONG-TERM CARE.

Provides tax credit to resident taxpayers, regardless of adjusted gross income, for long-term care insurance premiums at lesser of $2,500 or 50 per cent of the amount of the insurance premium paid. If the tax credit is claimed, a medical expense deduction for long-term care insurance cost is prohibited. (HB90 HD1)

The Committees previously held public hearings on Senate bills that are substantially similar to House bills as noted. Please focus your testimony on the differences, if any between the House and Senate measures as listed.

When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal. The Committee will also accept Email testimony received 24 hours prior to the hearing. Email testimony may be submitted to baker2@capitol.hawaii.gov in a Word attachment.
