RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM. Allows a faculty member of UH with multiple part-time faculty appointments to meet eligibility requirements for membership in the ERS; exempts faculty or lecturers employed at UH who hold multiple part-time appointments which together aggregate to at least one-half full-time equivalent positions from provisions allowing the ERS board of trustees to deny membership to part-time or temporary employees. |

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII. Removes the statutory limitation preventing the University of Hawaii from implementing an optional retirement plan and clarifies that part-time and temporary University of Hawaii employees are not eligible for membership in the University's optional retirement plan. |
