RELATING TO MORTGAGE BROKERS AND SOLICITORS.

Exempts from the licensing laws for mortgage brokers and solicitors those developers of time share plans who make purchase money loans to purchasers of time share interests in time share plans.

RELATING TO REAL ESTATE.

Defines "de minimis structure position discrepancies", and clarifies that the tolerance used to determine whether or not an encroachment falls within the statute is determined by the use of the affected abutting lot.

RELATING TO NONPROFIT CORPORATIONS.

Authorizes nonprofit corporations to adopt amendments to articles and bylaws to terminate, redeem, or cancel memberships. Authorizes members of nonprofit corporations to resign at any time. Authorizes nonprofit corporations to indemnify officers and directors and to advance funds for reimbursement of expenses.

Authorizes a board of directors to determine whether mail ballots may be used in the election of directors of nonprofit corporations.

RELATING TO THE UNIFORM LIMITED PARTNERSHIP ACT.

RELATING TO THE UNIFORM SECURITIES ACT.

Updates and clarifies Hawaii's securities laws by exempting banks, saving institutions, and trust companies from dealer registration requirements.

RELATING TO PUBLIC UTILITIES.

Prohibits the Public Utilities Commission from using telephone directory advertising revenues of an organization, trade, or business, to determine regulated rates or charges of a telecommunications carrier in cases where both entities are owned or controlled directly or indirectly by the same interests.

RELATING TO CONSUMER CREDIT REPORTING.

Entitles consumers to one free credit report a year from consumer reporting agencies.

RELATING TO THE UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE.

Amends articles 3 and 4 of the uniform commercial code relating to commercial paper.

RELATING TO THE UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE.

Replaces article 1 of Uniform Commercial Code with a new article 1; makes conforming amendments.
