A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSING.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 286-239, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (a) to read as follows:
"(a) The commercial driver's license shall be marked "CDL" and, to the maximum extent practicable, shall be tamperproof
and include, but not be limited to, the following with respect to the licensee:(1) The name and residence address;
(2) A
color photograph;(3) A
physical description including sex and height;(4)
Date of birth; (5) [Social] A commercial driver's license number that shall not be the licensee's social security number;
(6)
Signature;(7) The
class or type of commercial motor vehicle or vehicles which may be driven together with any endorsements or restrictions;(8) The name
of this State; and(9) The
issuance and expiration dates of the license."SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
