WHEREAS, while the natural beauty of Hawaii is recognized throughout the world, the real beauty of our island state lies in its people, who through their personal relations with their families, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and community, have the true essence of the Aloha Spirit; and

WHEREAS, the people of Hawaii are very fortunate to have such an individual in RANDY RARICK as part of their citizenry who has given thirty-five years of service as a promoter of international surfing for Hawaii and the world; and

WHEREAS, RANDY RARICK served twenty years as Executive Director of Triple Crown Surfing and has generated millions of dollars annually in direct economic stimulus to Haleiwa, the North Shore Community, and the State by patronizing hotels, resorts, vacation resorts, and merchants; and

WHEREAS, RANDY RARICK's international vision has helped open Hawaii to foreign and domestic visitors to enjoy its natural beauty and aloha which has provided support for motion pictures, television, and print media promoting the sport of surfing on Oahu's North Shore showcasing our islands natural beauty; and

WHEREAS, RANDY RARICK and the Triple Crown of Surfing has generously supported numerous charities, foundations, drug free programs, and outreach to the homeless and aged; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2003, that this body hereby congratulates

RANDY RARICK for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the State and community, and extends to him its warmest aloha and best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
