HOUSE RESOLUTION

urging hawaii residents to become members of careentree's prescription drug program.

 

WHEREAS, the people of Hawaii are in dire need of reduced prices for their prescription drugs; and

WHEREAS, Hawaii residents find that their prescription drugs are unaffordable in pharmacies throughout the State; and

WHEREAS, CareEntree, a subsidiary of Prescis, Inc., has a program that provides members with real savings on prescription drugs, including a mail order program that increases member savings on drug costs; and

WHEREAS, members of CareEntree may save up to forty per cent off of the average wholesale price on generic drugs and up to fifteen per cent off of the average wholesale price on name-brand drugs; and

WHEREAS, families may enroll in CareEntree's prescription drug program that includes vision benefits and hearing aids for a monthly fee of $9.95 a month; eligible family members include the member's spouse, children up to age twenty-five, seniors age sixty and over, and any other dependents who are living with the member; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2003, that this body endorses this program and recommends that residents of Hawaii enroll in the CareEntree prescription drug program; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Governor of Hawaii, the Directors of Human Services and Health, and to the Chief Executive Officer of CareEntree.
