RESOLUTION
REQUESTING THE AUDITOR TO CONDUCT A STUDY OF PROPOSED MANDATORY HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR HEARING AID DEVICES AND SERVICES.
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 952 and House Bill No. 263, introduced in the Regular Session of 2003, propose to require health insurance plans to include coverage for hearing aids and the services rendered by hearing aid dealers and fitters licensed under chapter 451A, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS); and
WHEREAS, the Auditor is required by section 23-51, HRS, to prepare and submit a report to the Legislature on any legislative measure that mandates health insurance coverage; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2003, the Senate concurring, that the Auditor is requested to prepare and submit a report to the Legislature in accordance with sections 23-51 and 23-52, HRS, on the proposed measures requiring mandatory health insurance coverage for hearing aid devices and services, no later than 20 days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2004; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Auditor.
