A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO RECONSTRUCTED VEHICLES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 286-85, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (f) to read as follows:
"(f) This section shall not apply to any privately owned reconstructed vehicle in a county with a population of less than 500,000[.]; provided that beginning July 1, 2004, this section shall not apply to any privately owned reconstructed vehicle in a county with a population of less than 500,000 that has adopted or adopts and provides for the enforcement of ordinances regulating the inspection and certification of reconstructed vehicles."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
