A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Section 10-11, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:

"§10-11 Salary of the administrator. The salary of the administrator shall be [established] set by the board[; provided that such salary shall not exceed], but shall not be less than the salary of department heads or executive officers established by law[.] and shall not be more than the salary of the governor. The administrator shall be included in any benefit program generally applicable to officers and employees of the State."

SECTION 2. Section 87A-39, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (a) to read as follows:

"(a) All state agencies, including the office of Hawaiian affairs, having control of funds other than the general fund shall reimburse the State for contributions made by the State pursuant to sections 87A-32, 87A-33, 87A-34 87A-35, 87A-36, and 87A-37 on account of agency employees whose compensation is paid in whole or part from funds other than the general fund."

SECTION 3. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
