RELATING TO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.

Creates a state pharmaceutical assistance program pilot program for residents 62 years and older, in counties having a population density of less than 75 per square mile, with incomes up to 300% of the federal poverty level, and who do not qualify for Medicaid.

SB 2469

RELATING TO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.

Appropriates funds to the Department of Human Services (DHS) for the purpose of paying $1 for each prescription written for an individual whose income is at or below 300 per cent of the federal poverty level; provided that DHS obtains a waiver from the federal government to provide prescription drugs at Medicaid rates for qualified individuals.

RELATING TO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.

Creates a state pharmaceutical discount program for residents who lack drug insurance coverage or are uninsured; directs State to lower prescription drug prices by negotiating rebates from drug manufacturers and discounts from retail pharmacies for Rx program. Directs State to negotiate supplemental Medicaid rebates from drug manufacturers and discounts from retail pharmacies on drugs covered by Medicaid.

Establishes the Hawaii Rx Program to make prescription drugs more affordable to all residents of the State.

Allows the Director to contract with private consultants to assist in the review of cemetery and pre-need funeral authority license applications, regulatory issues, and related documentation.

Removes a redundant provision in procedures dealing with the voluntary termination of escrow depository operations.

SB 2701

A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE PREVENTION OF THE FILING OF FRIVOLOUS FINANCING STATEMENTS.

Prevents the filing of frivolous financing statements with the bureau of conveyances by assuring that the filing of the financing statements are authorized by the debtors
