Description: Requires Hawaii tourism authority (HTA) to market, operate, manage, and maintain convention center; increases membership of the HTA board; clarifies that HTA is a policy-making board; requires legislative notice for HTA contracts over $25,000; beginning 7/1/01: allocates yearly (1) $1M of TAT moneys to state parks special fund, (2) caps $60M into the tourism special fund rather than 37.9%, (3) increases county TAT share to 65% from 44.8%, (4) deposits 25% TAT moneys into convention center enterprise special fund rather than 17.3% into the convention center capital and operations special fund; repeals HTA 6/30/03; requires audit of the HTA with report to the 2002 Legislature.
