RELATING TO THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF EXISTING USES UNDER THE WATER CODE.

Changes the effective date for existing water uses from July 1, 1987 to the effective date of designation of a water management area under the State Water Code. (BUNDA B/R)

RELATING TO SECTION 13 OF ACT 380, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 1997.

Extends the sunset date of section 13 of Act 380 Session Laws of Hawaii (SLH) 1997 which calls for the preparation and implementation of habitat conservation plans and safe harbor agreements from July 1, 2002 to July 1, 2007. (BUNDA B/R)

RELATING TO THE ENVIRONMENT.

Repeals the Hawaii Environmental Disclosure Law which was passed in 1982 to alert the public to major corporate changes, particularly in the case of the agricultural industry, that may affect Hawaii's environment, land use, jobs, and economy. (BUNDA B/R)

RELATING TO INCREASING DEVELOPMENT FLEXIBILITY OF PUBLIC LANDS.

Gives the Airports Division greater flexibility in the disposition of leases; subject to the approval of BLNR. (SD1) (BUNDA B/R)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 40 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 201, State Capitol 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
