RELATING TO SUBMISSION OF REPORTS TO THE LEGISLATURE.

Requires the legislative reference bureau to track and monitor submission of annual and other reports to the legislature. Requires agencies to submit summary or highlights of each report, and post electronic copy of report on agency's website.

RELATING TO INCREASING DEVELOPMENT FLEXIBILITY OF PUBLIC LANDS.

Gives the Airports Division greater flexibility in the disposition of leases; subject to the approval of BLNR.

RELATING TO HARBORS.

Temporarily exempts the leasing of fuel storage facilities at Nawiliwili harbor from the requirements of chapter 171, HRS. (HB216 HD1)

RELATING TO DEPUTY ATTORNEYS GENERAL.

Specifies that deputy attorneys shall perform duties as the attorney general may require regardless of the source of state funding for compensation. (HB514 HD1)

RELATING TO TOWING.

Increases towing fees from $50 to $55 for a tow, from $60 to $65 for a tow using a dolly, from $25 to $30 for multi-level towing surcharge, and increases mileage charge from $5 to $6.50 per mile. Specifies the days and times when towing companies are entitled to overtime charge. (HB1547 HD1)

RELATING TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION.

Requires the Auditor to conduct a management audit of the public utilities commission and submit report to legislature and governor before convening of regular session of 2002.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.

The Committee previously held public hearings on Senate bills that are substantially similar to the House bills noted. Please focus your testimony on the differences, if any, between the House and Senate measures listed.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 230, State Capitol 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
