RELATING TO PUBLIC DISPLAY.

Amends the inventory period for a licensee, who provides public displays of fireworks more than once a month, to import and store aerial common fireworks and special fireworks from six-months to twenty-four months, provided the storage of such fireworks is in conformity with all applicable laws and regulations. Charges a $100 license fee for public display companies, including public display companies that import and store fireworks. Repeals requirement that the fireworks permit for public display must be obtained not less than twenty days before the date of the display. Clarifies that the fee for permits for public display are in addition to any license fee and that the fee for a permit for public display shall be $110 per event and used for purposes specified in section 132D-11(a). RELATING TO CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD CHECKS.

Creates a temporary working group to make recommendations on policy issues concerning access and use of criminal history record information for employment and licensing purposes.(HB161 HD2)

Persons wishing to testify should submit 50 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 230, State Capitol 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
