RELATING TO DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES FOR TIME SHARE PLANS. Gives greater latitude regarding time share disclosure provisions to require that time share promotional literature and other printed or written material disclose that the product or activity involves time share. Gives the director of commerce and consumer affairs discretion to prescribe time share disclosure by rule. (HB23 HD2) |

RELATING TO THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY TAX. Effectuates an agreement entered into by the State of Hawaii, the City & County of Honolulu, the County of Maui, the County of Kauai, the County of Hawaii, and a number of public service companies by providing for a sharing of the public service company tax revenues with those counties from real property tax for public service companies. |

RELATING TO TOURISM. Increases the number of Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) voting members. Establishes the convention center enterprise special fund. Assigns HTA the responsibility for marketing, managing, using, operating, and maintaining the convention center facility. Allows excess TAT revenues to be used for expanding Hawaii business tourism and investing in Hawaii's natural resources. (HB269 HD1) |

Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
ORAL TESTIMONY AT THE HEARING; PERSONS WISHING TO TESTIFY AT THE HEARING MUST REGISTER TO TESTIFY PRIOR TO THE HEARING by calling the committee clerk or filling out a testimony form prior to the start of the hearing. TESTIMONY AT THE HEARING WILL BE LIMITED TO THREE (3) MINUTES FOR EACH TESTIFIER.
The Committee previously held public hearing on Senate bills that are substantially similar to House bills as noted. Please focus your testimony on the difference, if any, between the House and Senate measures as listed.
