Changes current medical fee schedule for workers’ compensation reimbursement from 110% of Medicare to the annually adjusted federal workers’ compensation medical fee schedule for use in Hawaii.

Requests an appropriation of $600,000 out of the Human Resources Development Special Fund for fiscal year 2001-2002 so the Department can carry out the purposes of the fund.

Places the Hoisting Machine Operators Advisory Board within the department and authorize the hiring of an executive director exempt from civil service.

RELATING TO BOILER AND ELEVATOR SAFETY LAW.

Allows the Department to set reinspection frequencies of elevators and kindred equipment based on safety consideration. Specifies that the Department has the right to review construction and renovation plans of regulated equipment prior to issuing "permits to operate".

RELATING TO THE MILLENNIUM WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT training PROGRAM.

Appropriates money to continue a technology workforce development training program.
