RELATING TO NONCONSENSUAL COMMON LAW LIENS.

Requires for nonconsensual common law liens that a claim of lien against a private party filed with land court and the bureau of conveyances must be accompanied by a certified order from a state or federal court of competent jurisdiction authorizing the filing of the lien to be valid. (SAY (BR))

RELATING TO INTERSTATE FAMILY SUPPORT.

Clarifies the definition of a "registering tribunal" and amends the notice requirements for proceedings to contest the validity or enforcement of a registered child support order. (HB527 HD1) (SAY (BR))

RELATING TO INFORMATION ON THE NATURAL PARENTS OF THE ADOPTED MINOR CHILD.

Waives the requirement for court-ordered medical information forms if the completed forms are not returned to the Department of Human Services (DHS). RELATING TO ELECTIONS.

Establishes a temporary task force to comprehensively review, evaluate, and recommend changes to Hawaii's election laws regarding vote counting, particularly consideration of automatic recount and contesting procedures, to ensure the integrity and certainty of the State's electoral process. Persons wishing to testify should submit 35 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 202, State Capitol 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
