The purpose of this informational briefing is to discuss the aging of the nursing workforce and nursing workforce trends. The impending nursing shortage in the State of Hawaii is of great concern and poses a significant health care implication for the people of Hawaii. Dr. Peter Buerhaus, PhD., RN, FAAN and Dr. Jack Needleman, Ph.D , nationally known experts on this topic, will be presenting information to the Senate and House Health Committees.
